I love this time of year! Well, other than the cold weather, that is. I love Christmas time, decorating, togetherness with my family, and the occasional snow that we have had the last couple of years.
We have had some fun playdates lately and yesterday, we had a playdate at Vanessa and Penny’s house. The kids were Tiny Hot Chocolate Chefs and it was so fun. Cheyenne was the perfect age for this as she could participate and make her hot chocolate mix with very little help from Mommy.
This is the lovely set up for our hot chocolate mix assembly. We had the cocoa, gumdrops, chocolate and butterscotch chips, marshmallows and cinnamon.
Our lovely hostesses, Vanessa and Penny!! We love going to Penny’s house!!
Cheyenne had a blast making her hot chocolate mix…adding each of the ingredients (and eating a few along the way)!!
Cheyenne’s beautiful bag of hot chocolate mix. We’ll definitely be making this up soon considering it’s almost noon and not even up to freezing yet. Yep, 11:00 in the morning, and it’s still only 30 degrees. This is why I don’t like winter. I hate cold weather, but I guess there are some perks…hot cocoa, coffee is better in the winter, snuggling to stay warm, fires in the fireplace and of course cold weather means it’s time for Santa to come visiting.
After the hot chocolate chefs had completed their masterpieces, it was time to play and as usual, that ends with all the kids jumping on the couch and screaming and laughing. These girls love spending time together!
It was such a fun time and we are definitely going to have to make our cocoa soon, because Cheyenne won’t let me forget about it. She is constantly asking if we can make our cocoa. I’m thinking we’ll make it tonight, after dinner maybe with a fire going in the fireplace. Some of my favorite winter moments. 🙂
Then, that evening, it was time for or Christmas edition of our Organizer meeting for our playgroup. We had a great time at Villa-O and those that had them wore their ugly Christmas sweaters. I don’t have any Christmas sweaters, so I wore a red sweater and put a gift tag on it that said “Ugly Christmas Sweater”. I was going to put a couple of bows on my shirt too, but I didn’t have any unsued bows and the ones I had wouldn’t stay on.
We also did a gift exchange and that was fun as well! As always, I had a great time with the organizers of this group.
What a great group of organizing Mommas!!
I am so blessed to be part of such a great group of mommas and to have made some awesome friendships that will hopefully last a lifetime! The kiddos in this group are so great and Cheyenne has a great group of kids to grow up with!!
